Folks,
For some reason, I've lost my sound when I try to play RealPlayer and every web-based videos. The sound is fine for iTunes and the OS sounds.
Can anybody think what the problem could be? I've tried emptying the prefs.

Intel iMac, 10.4.5.

Cheers,
S.

Did you repair permissions and restart? That usually fixes the sound problems on my PB sometimes.
This is the bit where I go "huh"? I understand what that is, but I'm not sure how to do it. :)

An obscure fix comes to mind... You didn't happen to install Audacity or other sound software recently, did you?

Anyhow, try running GarageBand - open it, let it start, and begin a project. Then quit GarageBand (you don't have to save your project), repair permissions (Disk Utility), and reboot.

Apparently, GarageBand "repairs" core audio that may have been messed with by other applications. It's a long shot, but it worked for me after installing Audacity.

Good luck...
