I've made a currency conversion app designed for travelers.
Coming from "rest of the world" where we see prices including tax, it was always tricky going to the US (or Canada) and trying to estimate also the end price. So, I've made a currency app focused on traveling that also tries to estimate the tax you'll pay (if the product/service is expected to have tax).
I use location (it's never shared, it's just store the last location provided as text - country, city, county) to show:
- Suggest which currency is being used at the current location.
- Estimated tax (country, state, county)
- Tipping customs for country (I've compiled a list of as many countries I could find reviewing multiple sites and trying to get into the ballpark for taxis, dining and hotels).
It's ad supported, but there's also in-app subscription that currently removes ads (but will include premium features in the future such as Apple Watch app).
