Dear People,

I've upgraded my single CPU tray 4,1 MacPro to an 2009 4,1 Dual CPU tray. I installed it, everything works, but fans are blowing at 100% all the time. Ive reseted PRAM and SMC chip. What can I do more?

Please help!

specs

2009 4,1 MAC PRO
2009 4,1 dual CPU tray (one CPU installed (for testing))

16gb RAM DDR3 1066mhz

I think someone already answered you in another thread. if you still only have a single CPU installed the fans will go 100% due to no CPU is present in the 2nd socket. Without the 2nd CPU the sensors for temp on that empty socket basically get no info on what to run the fans at so therefore "play it safe" and make it go 100%

Just install the 2nd CPU, fans will behave as they should afterwards

I think I've f*cked up my second CPU with delidding. :( cause now nothing is working anymore...
