Hi,

I'm very new to iWeb so I am a total noob. :) Is there a way to add "leave a comment" feature in iWeb? So when I create a blog or post a video people can say what they think etc. Are there any good iWeb tutorials except those from Apple I've already watched?

Thanks for any advice

Also, can you make a web page in two languages lets say English default and then have a flag of another language to switch between them? I would like to create my web page that way so my parents or friends who can't speak english can read it too. :)

Nope, there's no comment section yet.

I want to make my family tree website available in both German and English and eventually Finnish.

The only way I've found to do that is to create a new user account on your computer and change the system language from English to your parent's language, duplicate your website and then upload both websites to your webhost. You could put a little flag on your main site and have that link to the second language site.

It's fairly easy to do, but it is somewhat time consuming and gets confusing after awhile. I would love to see Apple make it possible to have multiple languages in iWeb.

oh thanks. what a shame - guestbook and two different languages would really make it a nice handy program. :)

Have a look at the following page about Guestbooks and iWeb
http://iwebfaq.org/site/iWeb_Guestbook.html

And this page about comments feature on Blogs and whatever page you like
http://iwebfaq.org/site/iWeb_Feedback_Comments.html

There is also a page about multiple languages on it but I don't know how good/bad it is...

However I'd recommend you to just go to File=>New site and build the german version... Almost everybody in germany has at least some little english knowledge... I mean the only things that would change are buttons like
'back' 'forward' 'home' 'previous' 'next' thus not so much and I think people will understand...

Regards,
Giovannino

Contrary to a previous comment, you CAN add comments to your iWeb page (at least on the blog and photo pages). Open Inspector, click on relevant menu and tick the "allow comments" box. Ref two languages, as per a previous comment use two sites. I have my site in English and German. I have set up two sites in iWeb. The first page of the first site I have two flags enabled as hyper-links. Click on the English flag and it takes you to the Welcome page of that site (in English). Click on the German (or, in my case, Swiss) flag and that leads you to the welcome page of the German site. That way you give the same home address to everyone. It is a pain and needs twice as much space but as far as I know that's the only solution. Oh, and remember in the language screen tick the box to hide the navigation menu!!!!

Oops! Thanks for the correction, I've now enabled comments!
