Hello everyone. Long time reader, first time poster. :p

Is anyone else having trouble with iWeb and google maps? The widget won't find my address. My road is called by the state route number in my town, but in the next town/county it goes by a street name (ex: st rt 111 v. Mill Hwy). Google maps through iWeb wants to call it the street name in my town too- so my addy does NOT exist in it!!!! But the standard google maps shows my addy just fine!

I got the new iWeb as soon as it came out just for this feature. We have a very simple biz site and have no need to buy/learn any other web software. But it was a total waste cause its useless to us. Apple tech support says they have received MANY calls re: this issue, yet no fix yet? I called about a week after I got it in the mail. Seems really strange to me, since the standard google works just fine.... I'm using their widget now, but it sucks cause users have to follow an offsite link to google maps for directions. :(

:mad:aaarrrrrgggghhhh. This is EXACTLY why I switched from microsoft..... As far as I am concerned, I should be given a refund.

software always has bugs...be patient, if they are as aware as you say of the problem, there will likely be a fix. Besides, why switch back to Microsoft, you said that you didn't want to learn a new program...;):)

Oh yeah, no way. I switched maybe.... 5 years ago now? Wow, time flies when your not fixing your computer.

Still, iWeb has been out for a while now, and they have known... They are known for stuff 'just working', right? Seems like a BIG bug to me, but then I'm one who can't use it.

If I was having a problem I couldn't solve, I would be frustrated too!! Still, it is one of Apple's least mature programs...is the problem definitely with Apple, or is it with Google?

I have no idea. But the standard google maps site finds my addy just fine. Of course, that doesn't mean its not a problem on google's end. But THAT doesn't excuse the lack of a fix by now, imo.

Frankly, I just don't think it is a priority. What with all the happenings in the apple-verse.

Well, regardless, I hope it is fixed for you soon, nothing is as frustrating as having some software that won't do something you know its supposed to be able to do...
