iWeb pages (mobile.me) searchable??

If I create a web page using iWeb, it's stored and accessed via my mobile.me account.

Does anyone know if these pages are visible to search engines like google, etc.?

I'd like to do a public page that could be 'found' by someone searching, assuming the google spider has found it. (does that make any sense?) Or would I need to go with a more public domain hosting site to be completely public?

Oh man....

First... Whether you use a personal domain or the web.me.com/username url doesn't matter...

Second... Whoever told you that iWeb sites (no matter where they're published to) aren't searchable is wrong... BUT you have to know HOW... The main problem is the navigation menu of iWeb '08 which is Javascript rendering and can't be read by google and other search engines. Thus they don't know what pages are included in your site. All you need to do is add an alternative menu that search engines can read. There are pretty successful websites out there on search engines which were built with iWeb (it also doesn't matter whether you publish to MM or to another server).

Hi guys, just found post on other forum about SEO for iWEB.


When it comes to iWEB you have take into consideration various factors e.g. optimisation for SEO and easy to navigate page. SEO is the biggest leak of iWEB.

I have just found on SEO offline magazine, featuring company based in London, they just explained SEO techniques used in iWEB. I think that was paid advertisement by Apple, but web site is stunning.

Go and check your self bathroom specialist

1. clear text (veranda);
2. tags instead menu (see page source);
3. image of xxx text over the images;
3. key word in image names, alt, titles;
4. meta tags;
5. a web site is updated something like every day;

Even I though about dropping email to mogio, ask about how they perform on big three engines. Once they reply I’ll update here, too.
