My Mac
I use iWeb for our church podcast site. The current site is kinda dull looking and I want to use one of the other templates in iWeb to change the site. My question is how do I do that without losing all of the current info? There are something like 30 weeks worth of stuff that I just don't want to lose.

No current push button way

I'm not an iWeb user, but I've had a similar question posed to me by a friend.

As far as I know the current version of iWeb doesn't support changing the template of an already created/published site. Therefore this would be a copy and paste scenario.

So it's not impossible, but there is no push-button answer. It would take a little time and a little "manual labor".

Dang. Well, I guess I could move the "Domain" file to my external drive for backup and just copy the contents of the package to the new domain file. I'll wait until after tomorrow's update to start on it though - just in case of a new iWeb that may contain this feature.

Contents of domain file...

Again I'm not an iWeb user, but I would say to take care if you do so as the Domain file that you're referring to likely contains more than just your content.

You might check the Apple iWeb discussions and things for more in the way of step by step cut and paste instruction, as this does seem to be an issue that comes up fairly frequently. Just be sure to make a backup and do some research first so that you don't hose all of your content while trying to do this.

Well today my question was answered.....iLife '08 with the new iWeb. I can now just switch templates even after my site is published. Thanks Apple. :D
