Would someone take the time to point me towards a walk through on how I add a widget to the home screen or lock screen? I have dashboard x and I have the stock weather widget on my home screen however I want a widget that I found and downloaded:

CMC_ULTIMATE_SB_TopV2_iWidget

I have put this folder in /var/mobile/Library/iWidgets. What do I do next? Is that even right? I have googled and searched on here for help but I can't find anything that helps.

Thanks

I believe that they both allow you to just hold on a blank spot on the screen to add a widget....

The default for Dashboard X to put a widget on the screen is for you to put your icons in wiggle mode (as if you plan to delete something) then for you to press and hold on a blank spot on the screen.

This is the EXACT same way you install an iWidget. The problem for you I imagine is that Dashboard X is dominating the behavior.

Go into the settings for Dashboard X and uncheck the option to Longtap to Edit mode. Go back to your homescreen and add your iWidget. You'll need to turn this behavior back on if you want to install a Dashboard X widget though.

Dashboard X and iWidgets are not (as far as I know) interchangeable. iWidgets are HTML/CSS while Dashboard X uses the widgets from Notification Center.

Thanks for the reply. I did as you said, disabling longtap but when I go back go my homescreen and put the icons into wiggle mode, press and hold I still only have the standard widgets that dashboard x came with (music, calendar, socialweeapp, stock widget, weather and sbsettings).

No options to add the widget I have downloaded from .zip or from Cydia....

Also iWidget that I downloaded from Cydia does not show up in my settings menu or as an icon on my phone?

You need to install the iWidgets tweak itself. It's simply called iWidgets in Cydia. If you don't have that installed, you can't use the iWidgets.

Hi.

I had already reinstalled iWidget but it made no difference. Then... I found a post where someone had said that if you had infinboard then iWidgets would not work. I had it so uninstalled it and hey presto iWidgets now works! Thanks for all your help and advice though.
