Everything was working fine until I started making some changes in Winterboard. Now none of my iWidgets that require Internet are working. Specifically, if I add an iWidget that needs to gather information, they are either blank or they show "Internet?" on the widget when I add it to my home screen. iWidgets that just have time/date are working fine.

It's not the My Weather issue because I have that installed and it is working fine. Even iWidgets that don't use the GPS Weather are not working, so it's got to be some kind of pointer that tells the iWidgets how to use the Internet or something like that.

It stopped working when I installed the Carla theme and enabled a couple of the options for that theme in Winterboard. In particular, there were a couple of entries that had "widget" in them and I thought I'd try them out. Ever since then, the iWidgets have stopped working, so I think it is related to that.

However, I uninstalled Carla, reinstalled both iWidgets and the GPS Weather with My Location, respringed, rebooted, and they are still not working. So there is a setting or file that must have gotten changed somehow and I don't know how to fix it.

Anyone?

Here's a snap of what's happening. Notice the iWidget in the lower half that shows "Internet!" instead of the information.

Some of the widgets will say "Wait dude!!" instead of "Internet?", but basically the same thing is happening to them all. The time and date will show up, but nothing else.

Turn on location services to see if it pulls the data.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I do not believe it is a Location issue. The My Location app is getting my location just fine, and my location services are on (I toggled them to make sure). It's an Internet data issue with iWidget, I guess. Obviously everything else is working over the Internet (and yes, I tried with Wifi and LTE).

Something has messed with iWidgets ability to gather data (Internet data).

Post the HTML file here from the iWidget and ill take a look. A respring often resets it but something might have been changed. Check in Var/Mobile/Library/iWidgets and then your iWidget and upload the HTML file. If there is any remnants of the Carla widgets, delete them if you're not using them anymore.

Since they are all doing it, I just picked one called "LG iWidget". It doesn't really matter which one since none of them that require getting internet data are working. Here's the HTML file (zipped to upload here):

just putting my 2 cents in. is it possible it might not be iwidget problem. could it be yahoo's problem. i know most iwidget uses yahoo as their source. for some reason widget uses "var locale" is still working just fine. it's the widget and iwidget that uses gps that's not working. maybe yahoo is changing something on their end.

Definitely possible, though wouldn't this affect everyone who's using them? Aside from one other person in this thread, I haven't seen anyone else having issues?

I don't know the technical details of how iWidgets work, but it seems to me that they use 3 different sources for information: the phone itself for clock/calendar, the My Location app for GPS location, and the Internet for grabbing data based on the location, etc. It seems to be the latter that isn't working properly, and it could very well be as you stated. It may be getting the location just fine, but if it can't grab the data, it still wouldn't work.

For now, it's indeterminate whether it's a problem with something on my phone, or perhaps with the data source via the Internet. If it's the latter, then I would imagine more users would start to report issues. Can you guys who have replied try some for yourself to see if they are working on your phones? In particular, I am using iWidgets from Schnedi and DB from Cydia.

UPDATE: The widgets have started working again, so it definitely looks like it was an issue with Yahoo or a server somewhere. I didn't do anything to get them to work, they just started working. Thanks for your replies nonetheless!

Good stuff! :) I was about to check the file as well!

Yahoo were running some tests, this is why that happened.

I hate to drag up an old thread but my iWidgets are having this same problem now. They were working fine and now the last 2 days I can't get the weather data to load and I get this "Internet?!" instead. Anyone else having problems and is it truly a problem with yahoo?
