I have the iPhone 5 with the latest update from Cydia. My Apple weather widget is working fine.

However, I download iWidgets and added a couple different widgets (such as Epiq iWidget and DB iWidget Pack and none of them are working properly. The clocks work fine, but when I add the Epiq widget, the weather is stuck on "Gijon" so it must not be getting my location. And the other widgets that have weather just get stuck saying "Loading" when I add the widget. Tried respringing and resbooting, but that didn't fix it.

Has anyone else gotten these to work? I thought I saw somone with the Epiq widget in one of the homescreen threads.

Any ideas?

I tried downloading some other iWidgets and they too cannot get the weather. Most of them just have a blank area on the widget where the weather would go. For the couple that actually did show something, they just showed a location of "Gijod" with the wrong temp.

So obviously, something is amiss with iWidgets, not allowing it to access location or GPS, or whatever it uses to gather the weather. I have made sure Location is turned on in settings, of course. I also thought that maybe Dashboard X was conflicting with it, so I uninstalled that but the problem still occurs.

Has anyone gotten iWidgets (with a weather widget) working on the iPhone 5?

FIXED: Downloaded "GPS Weather Lockscreen" from Cydia and now the iWidgets are working for weather location. Would have been nice to know that I need a separate app to get the GPS location for these widgets. I didn't see anything about it when I downloaded iWidgets.

"GPS Weather Lockscreen" is not required for iWidgets using location data on my 4S with OS6.1.

I still have an issue with this...I tried the OP's method but that did nothing on an iphone 5 running 6.1. All weather widgets are stuck on Gijon location; I've tried installing the "My Location" app and the GPS Weather Lockscreen. (I also can't OPEN the MyLocation app...it opens then quits out; incompatible with 6.1?)

So lame, I miss my widgets! Anyone have any ideas? Is there a way to change it manually? Editing the widget file or the my location app itself?

I'm on 6.1 and myLocation is working fine on my iPhone 5. I got myLocation from king_o_hill's (user on modmyi) repo:

http://cydia.myrepospace.com/kohidevice/

You might want to read king_o_hill's instruction doc. He is very specific on how to install it.

This worked PERFECTLY- complicated instructions but worth it!!

Thanks SO MUCH for your reply, you made my night! :)

I'm using a couple of these iWidgets for weather/time. You can SSH (or use Appletalk to mount it as a drive in Finder) into your iPhone and manually edit the config.js file for your location. Depending on the iWidget you'll need to get the city code from either weather.com or Yahoo weather.

I did that when I installed these so it shows correctly for me, but installing the GPS Lockscreen tweak worked much better as the widgets follow my location (i.e., it's not the fixed city code).

While I have the GPS Lockscreen thing installed I don't have it activated in Winterboard because I have a different theme on the lockscreen. But the app part works for me and it's keeping the iWidgets current.

Perhaps there may have been a conflict with another tweak you had that made the app quit out?

Got the same issue.

Tried downloading the GPS Lockscreen thing, did nothing... Still says Gijon

See post #6. Worked perfectly for me. Pretty simple. Try uninstalling then re-installing the widget on your SB after you've completed the process.

My gps weather has totally stopped working for themes and iwidgets for no reason, can't find a fix anywhere its driving me insane!!!!!
First iwidgets weather stopped about 5weeks ago and now theme lock screen weather, and I'm a god dam talented dude!!!!

Thank the lord, I thought I downloaded something that broke my theme. HTC Weather Widget, come back! Does anyone know if simply changing the target website to something like weatherbug might fix this? Is RSS code fairly uniform across providers?

Had to register for this one. I tried it all. Forecast, non forecast, different Iwidget versions etc etc.

Only thing I can figure the NWS head quarters is located in Oklahoma where the tornados went through and knocked something offline... Either that or there was increased server traffic a a result. I've given up for now. I noticed that some weather maps in standard apps wont show any activity either.

I have problem with the HTC Animated Weather

For a one days does not update the weather. I thought of this porblem with the application so it reinstalled on the version of HTC Animated Weather 1.1 to 1.3.

Nothing helped.

Waiting for news or weather begins to work or how to fix the problem.

I did find an iwidget called B1ackscorpion that seems to work just fine. Might not fit your themes but just figured I'd mention.

i believe this is caused by a down satellite GOES-13.

"Just as the 2013 hurricane season is about to begin, one of the U.S.' main weather satellites failed this week. The Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite, also known as GOES-13, reportedly ceased to operate as of Tuesday, making it impossible to predict weather patterns on the East Coast."A note at NOAA's page for the GOES family of satellites says "GOES-13 imaging and sounding operations suspended. Recovery efforts for GOES-13 continue and the spacecraft health and safety are nominal. GOES-14 is being activated." You can follow the progress on the agency's page of General Satellite Messages.

Yahoo has changed things on their end: without updates to the js files on widgets like these, they will be permanently disabled. There's a couple threads at modmyi that are discussing what has happened (yahoo will no longer be giving 4 or 5 day forecasts or some such nonsense).

http://modmyi.com/forums/native-iph...47542-htc-animated-wigdet-perpagehtml-17.html

Look at post #333, it gives the gist, and references another massive thread for a weather widget that they're trying to find workarounds for.

This makes me very sad, as I have used a lock screen called HTC Weather Widget 1.75 for years which hadn't been updated since 2011, and since I know zilch about coding and the like, the chances of me every being able to use it now are slim to none.

i dont follow...

on that posts it says: "Yahoo changed their geo locational services. You can go to the UniAW 6.0 thread and get the fix on page 1 or Drifters fix on page 20 for older widgets. It's just replacing 1 file."

does this mean there is a fix or all the fixes are for older widgets?

i went to UniAW and found no fix on page 1. i am not browsing the whole thing.

It means each widget's java script needs to be rewritten to omit calls for the forecast. Different widgets may have completely different location.js files.

For HTC iWidget

Extract these two files then navigate to /var/mobile/Library/iWidgets/HTC and place these two files there. Rename to LockBackground.html.dis and Widget.html

After that respring and enjoy the working forecast

Sorry to bring up an old post, but was wondering if there was a weather widget for iwidget that works on iOS7

There are several that do, some old some new. Now that iWidgets was updated, some weather widgets are cropping up in the "post your jb homescreen" thread.
