Hey everyone!

Well, i'm hyped up for the iPad. :D
But I have some questions, hopefully someone can answer.
Let's say that I am working on a Page documents or Keynote presentation on my iMac, can I transfer my work onto my iPad, therefore, allowing me to work on the go?

Thanks!

Currently, we can only think of
a - emailing to yourself
b - speculation, via mobileme

Hey, I like that CD idea...oh wait...never mind. :D
But yeah, maybe e-mailing will work.
I realized that the Keynote on the iPad has a limited number of templates...maybe it'll grow? It would be interesting to use a template on my iMac that the iPad doesn't offer and see what happens when I transfer...if possible to transfer.

Personally, for me, it doesn't cut it. :(

I read somewhere that the ipad will mount as a shared drive. Something in the sdk revealed this functionality iirc.

I read somewhere that the iPad has the same file sharing abilities as OS X. So your computer should be able to "see" your iPad, assuming its configured to your WiFi network giving you the ability to drop a file from your Mac to a folder on your iPad.

Alternately you can get a free dropbox or Google Docs account, store your iWork files there and d/l to your iPad when needed.

I've heard (through Engadget and MacRumors too I think) that it will be able to get files via wifi as well as mounting it via the USB cable. I think they are also working a different file system into it to communicate with third party apps.

There are a variety of ways the documents could be shared/sync'ed:

- MobileMe

- Like Documents To Go

- Mounting as a HD/folder on the desktop Mac.

- E-mail

I guess it will work allot like the iPhone does.

But maybe it will work more like the Macbook Air where you can just log on to it over your wi-fi network to access the files.

As an aside, I would like to see wireless syncing too but, in the presentation, Jobs specifically mentioned syncing over USB and nothing else. However, he also didn't mention wireless file sharing either, so that doesn't mean it isn't there.

I believe there is going to be a Shared Storage folder that documents will be saved to. Would seem like a logically solution. Similar to a Classic iPod does with full resolution photos.

I'm hoping for something quick, and acts as a second nature kind of thing. Like, maybe...when you plug in the iPad to the computer, there will be an update available. This update puts a button on all iWork applications. Whenever you are working and want to transfer what you to your iPad, press the transfer button and voilà! Easy as that...

That was just some quick mindless thinking. LMAO.

Yeah it's a bummer isn't it? We now have the answers to all our question but can't share them to put other's minds at ease :(

Ok. That statement right their did not help at all. Now that I know that people know all our answers makes me more...anxious :D

I think they should allow for seamless iwork.com integration... This would seem like the perfect opportunity to push the service..

I've read articles here saying that it will likely mount a drive to your computer, also the WiFi file sharing thing is quite possible.
I'm also hoping the USB accessory for the iPad will allow you to insert a flash drive and put files over onto the iPad.

File Sharing. A shared file directory is provided that will mount on your Mac or PC. This is presumably how files such as iWork documents will be transferred to and from the iPad. iPad applications will be able to access this shared directory.

I was thinking about the USB accessory also for other purposes like a flash drive. But then I got to thinking...why not cut out the middle man? Allow the iPad to plug directly into any Mac or Windows system (with the dock cable) and mount it's drive. Then just drag whatever files wherever. The iPad is the flash drive. A hefty one. Though it would be nice to be able to get files off the flash drive sometimes.

iDisk has been out for some time. Easy way to move files form computer to iPhone/iPad.

File sharing as already stated. Also in the article a few days back wireless printing across apps. We have 50 some odd days left till launch I think many of the concerns out side the already omitted, flash, camera, multitasking will have an app to solve the issue.
