iWork Pages for school project?

Ok, I have a biology project ("sell" an ecotour to the class) due next week and one part of it is to make a brochure about the land my group has been assigned. We were planning on making the brochure by hand, but I thought I remembered seeing that Pages can make brochures.

Is this correct?

If so, can someone give me some simple instructions for setting up Pages in brochure format? I have and am use to using MS Office but I thought I'd give Pages a try.

I have never used iWork (and I will be using the 30-Day trial with this), so any help is appreciated. If you don't think it's worth using Pages for this, also comment.

It's actually quite simple. As soon as you open pages a format window appears and asks you what type/theme you'd like to use. Just select the one you want and away you go. There's usually multiple pages within a theme, so if you click on the pages icon, top left, a pull-down list will appear to add differently formated pages for that theme. And yes there's a brochure option, as well as a bunch of others that could probably be used with no ill effects. Good luck with it

Ok, well I found the template for a three panel brochure, but a "Williams Brothers School Shop" brochure pops up. How do I remove all that or just start with a blank brochure set-up?

Also note, that I'm using my 30-day trial, but it is the exact same and should work just as the real version, correct?

yes, should work just like the retail version, for 30 days of course.

just open the template and delete stuff as needed. whether it's all at once or as you go...

Is that what you have to do with the retail version as well? If so that seems like a waste of time and is a hastle.

I don't find it that bad. You can drag your images on top of the ones already there and it replaces them with similar sizing. You can click on the text box already there and replace with the text that you want keeping the same formating. It's just like having a guide for each theme. I kind of like it that way

No, there is an option that you can open the same layout, without the text.

The templates shown to you, are just displays on how the final product could look.

Just like add-a-page, and select the same layout, and violalala, no text, blank page.

Just wondering, does Office have a thing in Word where you can make a brochure? If so, how does it compare to Pages?

I have Office 2004 Student edition.

Brochures In MS Office, HELP

Ok well I found an option in Office to make a Brochure so I'm trying to use this. I need to bring in some pictures from the internet. When I drag them into the brochure page, they show up, but I can't move them where I need them! Is there anyway to just click and drag the picture where I need it?

HELP!!!

Double click on the picture, choose the layout tab, and then click on Square. I'm not sure if this will work for you... I still have Office v. X.
