A few months ago I purchased this app when they had the $5.99 USD sale (I think it is $24.99 regularly priced). They said you couldn't upgrade for free if you bought it for $5.99, but I just got their upgrade for free. I guess they decided against charging those of us who got it for $5.99 or Apple told them they couldn't do it. Whatever the reason it is a great update and app.. I was just curious if anyone was charged for the upgrade who bought it for $5.99.

Thanks.

i think they meant you couldn't upgrade to the next full version, rather than just a bug fix/maintenance update.

I purchased the app when it was on the $9.99 sale. I just updated to 1.3 without any extra charge or issues. I do not believe it is possible for them to charge you "more". The only way they could is if they created a whole separate app in which case EVERYONE no matter how much you paid for the first one, would have to purchase the new one (If they chose to use it.)

It was pretty obvious that they would not be able to charge for a "minor" point update, even though they told customers there would be a charge of the difference between the sale and full prices.

I will say that Apple does need to add a way that developers can charge an update fee, like for going from version 1.X to 2.X.

Oh, and I have to say that I really don't like the new app icon in 1.3. But all of the important updates are great!

Works fine for me.

This is one of the few programs actually worth buying from the app store, IMO... not for 25 dollars though. I bought it on sale and had no problems updating to the new release.

Not to go too far off topic, but I've found Vine Server to be MUCH faster with Jaadu than the built in screen OS X sharing app. i.e. - "screen drawing" is much faster on my iPhone using Vince Server. I started using it before JaaduConnect became available. Vince Server works great (easy setup, flexible, fast) and be run as a system process that fires up invisibly when you start machine if you are so inclined. Just sharing.
