Restore your phone to 5.1.1, then jailbreak with Absinthe 2.0.4

hi dhlizard,
Thanks for reply.

i tried to restore 5.1.1 but my itunes return with error, The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored because the firmware file is not compatible.
i am using itunes 10.
what is the problem please help.

Put the phone in DFU,
Download 5.1.1 IPSW or find it on your computer and ALT-restore(mac) or SHIFT-restore(win) in iTunes, make sure you the latest iTunes

You need the newest iTunes and newest Redsn0w
Host file must point to Apple, not Cydia
Type "gs.apple.com" into your browser, it should go to Apple 404 error page
Phone into pwnedDFU mode using Redsn0w

If it doesn't work, download the IPSW to the desktop and do the above again, use iTunes to navigate to IPSW.

Yes i downloaded iPhone4,1_5.1.1_9B206_Restore.ipsw and redsn0w_win_0.9.14b2, i did pwnedDFU mode after that i had

SHIFT-restore from itunes v10.6 but unfortunitley Itunes return error "The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored because the firmware file is not compatible.".

Host file located C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts

in the host file:

# Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host
74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com

this is correct? for host file?
-----------------------------------
once again i tried with iPhone3,1_4.3.1_8G4_Restore.ipsw but now its gave me different error message

Your host file is not pointed to Apple.
Download TinyUmbrella, Advanced tab, uncheck point host file at Cydia
Then check with the browser address I gave
You might have to flush your browser cache.

Hi all,
Thanks for supporting, Finally jailbreak is done using redsn0w_win_0.9.14b2. Now my problem is SIM still lock, i mean "no service". what can i do further?
After rebooting, I launched Cydia on the iPhone and i installed Ultrasn0w 1.2.7 but still "No Service".
please help

thank you

Jailbreaking and unlocking are entirely different things.
Before this last post, there is no mention of wanting to unlock.

Ultrasn0w will not work to unlock your phone.
The only way to unlock it is a carrier IMEI unlock (or one of the grey market dealers)

Hi dhlizard,
Thnks for great respond.
could you give me litle bit details about service unlock?
there is no way to unlock service?

thanks to advance

You can contact the carrier who sold the phone for IMEI unlock (if available) or pay a grey market dealer.

There are several threads here already about IMEI unlocks and grey market dealers
