I have been reading a lot of posts trying to find the best method of jail breaking an out-of-the-box 1.1.3 iPhone, and I have seen some issues, and have not found if they are resolved.

I have a brand new iPhone with 1.1.3 installed.
I have a iBook G4 (PowerPC) Mac.
I have the AT&T iPhone service.

And I would like to know if I can use the guide on this board to jail break, or if I am out of luck because I have no access to an Intel Mac?

My goal is to have a fully working iPhone with my AT&T service, and the ability to run 'unofficial' 3rd party apps.

Thanks for your help, sorry in advance if this question has been answered many times.

You should be able to jailbreak it wihout problem. It's not about having an Intel or a Power PC. I did it on a power pc, so just follow any tutorial you can find here.

good luck :)

I used the "definitive method" here with my powerbook G4 last weekend (My phone was purchased in last October, and is under ATT, No unlocking). All the legitimate functions work fine.

Right now, only problem I have is Customize and Apollo don't work on me...... There seem to be solutions if you seach on the net, but I haven't worked on it yet. All other applications work pretty good!

In the jailbeaking process, I made some mistakes, took time to figure out what it was, and then it took me for 5 hours to get things done (with the baseband update, meaning I started from step 1). Good luck!! If I did it again, it should be much faster though, since downloading things still take time, I say it's probably going to be like 2 hours.

Good luck!
