JailBrake Question Before I mess It Up

Hi, I have a new 3gs with 3.0 and jailbroken. I have already got my 3.1 ECID SHSH on file with cydia. So my question is, can I upgrade to 3.1 and than jailbrake it again using which ever tools? I have windows vista, I read somewhere some people upgraded to 3.1 and than jailbroken it.

I could have read wrong and that is why I am checking Here before I regret anything.

The JB tools for 3GS and firmware 3.1 are not released yet.

If you have your SHSH stuff on file with Saurik, I guess you can downgrade, but at the present time, you can't JB 3.1 for your phone.

Also, once you apply the official Apple 3.1 IPSW, your baseband is locked and cannot be unlocked.

Just to be clear, having your 3.1 ECID SHSH on file only means you can downgrade to 3.1 forever. It will only be useful once Apple releases a new version of iPhone OS and stops signing 3.1.

Do not do anything to your phone until the dev team release pwnage tool or redsn0w for 3.1 on 3GS.
