Can I jailbreak (not unlock) 3.0 beta with the latest version of quickpwn? I saw a comment saying you could on the iphone dev team blog.

that's a pretty bad argument there. the people with 3.0 right now are supposed to be developers. so 'some people' who upgraded illegally will be faced with the consequences. there will be a jailbreak for 3.0

the dev team isn't going to risk their reputation for 'some people' if they couldn't crack 3.0 then all of their previous work was like it was for nothing

No, they won't. If they do, then Apple will patch the final version.

If you haven't noticed, all of the devices have a HARDWARE exploit. Apple cannot simply "patch" it. They can make it harder to implement the exploit, but they cannot make any firmware they EVER release for the current devices unjailbreakable. Every firmware release from now on for the current devices will be able to be jailbroken.

And the Dev-Team jailbroke the betas of 2.0 last year, and look where we are now. Jailbroken.

But they didn't release the unlock and jailbreak until after 2.0 was released, which is the whole argument here.

WinPwn had support for all of the 2.0 betas. I even upgraded to a jailbroken 2.0 beta. No applications worked, of course, but I SSHd into it and everything. The jailbreak was released.

EXACTLY! No way! They'll wait for the final release (someone else may do it), but Dev Team has already stated they will not until it releases (or at least they won't releas a way until it's final to the public). Which is a GREAT thing actually!

They'll wait until 3.0 is released to the public but I predict jailbreak will follow very quickly
