hi,
I'm new to the iphone, I have a 3gs at 3.1.2. I have previously owned an ATT tilt with a custom rom so i have some familarity with non standard phone roms.
My question is around jailbreaking 3.1.2. I specifically want to do it to use slingplayer over the wireless network. I have read that if the phone looses service and you need to reboot it that it needs to be cabled to a PC to recover it.
So my question is more specific, if I jailbreak 3.1.2 and it requires a reboot in the field, what happens when I reboot it without a connected PC?..does it revert back to the nonjailbroken state(i.e. everything works except my jailbreak required apps) or is it a brick until I get to a PC?
When I got the phone last week, it did loose service once and needed a reboot to recover..been rock solid ever since. I upgraded to 3.1.2 to get support for the augmented reality apps at the risk of giving up slingplayer over wireless.
thanks
rich
