I bought an iPhone 3GS recently I'm pretty sure it has the new bootrom as it came with 3.1.2. Is the jailbreak still tethered for iPhones with the new bootrom?

Yea it is the new bootrom :l guess i need to wait.

Well Blackra1n will JB it but it is a tethered JB.

If you ever need to restart or reboot your phone, battery dies, locks up, or after Cydia install which requires reboot, you will need a computer, USB cable and copy of Blackra1n RC3 to get your phone started again. Every time.

I suggest you sell that phone (as it's "barely" used) and get on about 2 months old off Craigslist or Ebay. I just bought two 3GS phones, both about 2 months old in pristine condition. They are both the older bootrom and both now JB. The old bootrom phone supply will soon dry up.

A little extra money gets rid of a load of inconvenience.

Just make sure you get a phone with older bootrom (as you can check it very quickly)

I wont do that as I am not that bothered if it is jailbroken or not. I just would like to if I could.
