If you are OK with Pangu and IOS 8.1, than there is no need to upgrade...

Sure there is... you get the bug fixes that came with 8.1.1 and 8.1.2 .. not sure why anyone says there's no advantage. There are always advantages. Apple doesn't devote the time and resources to coming out with .x releases just for the fun of it, they serve a purpose.

Let's fast forward and play devils advocate. Says next week Apple comes out with 8.2 ... and say none of the Jailbreak teams are able to jailbreak it for.. let's go with 6 months. Would you rather be on 8.1 for 6 months, or 8.1.2 for 6 months? 8.1.2 of course.

I don't get it why anyone wouldn't update given all the tweaks work with 8.1.2 that work with 8.1, and at the very least there are minor performance enhancements that come with it. It's pointless for people to keep asking "is there an advantage to update" ... because that's a silly question. Of course there is an advantage. There are certainly ONLY advantages. Want a list of them? Check the change logs for 8.1.1 and 8.1.2.

Sometimes they make a x.x update to fix issues not effecting everyone

I don't have a copy of Windows so that's my reason. Yes, I could install a Virtual Machine but they are just trials and will expire. What if I need Windows to JB 8.2? I'd rather wait for a major release than burn a trial on a minor one. Not having any issues on 8.1 so see no reason to change.

Im really surprised you guys cannot find a windows PC for a few minutes to JB your phones.
Bring your usb wire and a usb key with the .exe and you're done.
Theres way more windows computers out there than macs.

Going from 8.1 to 8.1.1 is a huge jump in performance and stability. I'm currently on 8.1.1 and today I'm going to 8.1.2. Reason being that say 8.2 comes out and it breaks jailbreak and closes the vulnerabilities used with taig. With no jailbreak possible for the foreseeable future. Then they stop signing 8.1.2 a short time after that. If i dont do it now, I would have wished i went to the latest one that could be jail-broke before they stopped signing it and be stuck on 8.1.1

That change log doesn't bother me, to be quite frank, as long as my 5S works perfectly on 8.1 with Pangu jailbreak. If there were maybe some major new functionality in those updates, than just maybe, I would consider updating...

Does anyone know if they are working on a mac app for the 8.2 jailbreak? I just got my iPhone, so I wasn't able to jailbreak it with pangu.

The last anyone heard was a day or two after the English language release. At that point, TaiG announced they were "considering" a Mac release, not that they were committing to make one. They also said that they had a JB ready for 8.2.

Most of us are either using a VM setup or finding a Windows machine somewhere. If we were guaranteed a Mac version, waiting would make sense, but given the vague wording, you could be waiting a very long time.

Dang. I hate putting windows on my Mac. haha. I guess I'll do the VM for now. Shouldn't take too long. Thanks! I haven't been keeping up since I didn't have my phone yet. haha. And I just realized I said 8.2 in my previous post. I meant 8.1.2, but it seems the answer would be the same.
