jailbreak and iphone trade in ?

so im on that program where i can upgrade every year to the new iphone through verizon and was wondering do i have to unjailbreak my device before i send it back in when i get the 12 pro max in september or october whenever it launches?

I would do it anyway to be safe, but doubt that Verizon or Apple even checks that.

I just go into the JB settings and do a RootFS restore to delete the JB and then I do a backup on iTunes and then a restore.
