I have an iPhone 4S which had the blue resistor broken, so it had no network coverage.
It has no easy fix without good equipment: http://www.ebay.it/itm/5-x-Iphone-4s-Antenna-Blue-Coil-Inductor-chip-Low-No-Signal-/301365388790

It was running 9.3.2 but I tried to upgrade it and now it is bricked...
It always stops around 60% of the upgrade process and fails with error 50.

What I really wanted to do was to jailbreak it and use it in TV out mode for some apps.

So, is there any way of jailbreaking it now?

Update: Maybe I shouldn't have used the word brick, the phone reacts to iTunes but asks to be restored all the time, and then stops at 60% with error 50.

Thanks.

Jailbreak can't brick your phone....never.
Regarding error 50, check this out:

Thanks bbrks. Yeah I didn't even get to the jailbreaking part.
It stays on error 50, but during an upgrade of iOS 9.3.2 to 9.3.5, I'm using IPSW files.
I'm downloading now 9.3.2 and see if I can recover the phone with that.

The link you provided states as some of the reasons sim card and baseband issues, well this device does not get any signal since the blue resistor I mentioned it missing.

This is entirely different than the title of your thread.

Upgrading 'bricked' your phone, not jailbreaking.

Sounds like you have a hardware issue that has nothing to do with jailbreaking (because you aren't jailbroken).

Until that issue is resolved and you can interact normally with the phone you can't jailbreak.

All of that said…

Even if your phone was functioning correctly - you still couldn't jailbreak.

There is a jailbreak for iOS 9 but only up to 9.3.3. And the 9.1 and above jailbreaks are for 64-bit devices only. Your 4s is a 32-bit device.

So, had you succeeded you would have upgraded to a version you cannot jailbreak and you have a 32-bit device you cannot jailbreak.

I'm very sorry, but no. There is NO way of jailbreaking it now (currently). If they ever release a jailbreak for 9.3.5 for 32-bit devices (highly unlikely) then you can.

Thanks eyoungren. Sorry for the misleading tittle.

Ha. I've tried to revive the phone with Apple IPSW but nothing works. Tried 9.3.2, 9.3.3 and 9.3.5.
Just to keep it alive at least while a Jailbreak would be available, if ever.

But no success...

I use an iPhone 5s which in theory could be jailbreaked, but I don't know if I'll do it with that. I'm still paying it...
Or maybe I should just do it and get out of Apple jail !

That's gonna be my last iPhone ever, I'll have to go Android, unfortunately.
Removing the audio jack was the last piece of crap apple introduced. I can't even share a charger cable with anyone at home, and now they want me to throw away my headphone/s. I'm over with them.

Arrgg. Even if I jailbreak the 5s I'll have to buy a new cable adapter to connect it to the TV. Because the one I have works for the 4s but they also changed that connector. :(

Thanks for your comments.

The phone will not restore since you have hardware damages and issues. If you have the cellular chip missing or damaged then that is the problem, not the jb.
The phone does an internal check of components and when parts are missing or nonfuctioning then it will not work until the device is repaired.
