after jailbreaking will I be able to download a different browser. Safari is not compatible with some of my work applications.. I am in need of firefox or opera.

I don't recall ever seeing anyone post about using a browser other than Safari on the iPhone...Jailbroken or otherwise. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure...

There is a browser on Cydia, whose name implies that it is a Firefox port... But it's not. It's a very basic browser, and isn't good for much. It's more of a proof of concept, than anything.

In all probability, if Safari won't work, it probably won't work either.
