I just received a new iPhone with 3.1.3 installed and have trying to jailbreak so I can unlock but when I try to download the appropriate files for pwnagetool for Mac OS, only a one KB file comes through. Any suggestions?

or depending on what device you have. you MAY be able to upgrade to 4.0 THEN jailbreak and unlock.

Thanks but I've heard of so many problems when upgrading to 4.0 with slowing down the phone and so forth.

Which is best to Jailbreak with Spirit or another method? Redsnow, Pwnage and so forth?

Is it still possible to upgrade from 3.1 to 3.13 and jailbreak/unlock?

I have no sh files on computer as it is a new phone but the cydia app installed on the phone says it has sh for 3.1.3 for the device?

Nobody is even saying what kind of iphone they have and asking questions like we're supposed to guess if they have a 2G, 3G, 3GS or whatever.
Telling us just what firmware you have doesnt say much. Give more info so we can try to help you out newbies.
