A one-touch jailbreak for the general public has not been released yet - only for developers. The latest updates (whenever they are ready) will be for Uncover and Electra and will be valid for iOS 12.0-12.1.2.

Rooting pertains to Android-based smartphones/tablets.

Maybe in 3 to 4 months for iOS 12.1.2 and below.

you are correct it seems but sadly I have iPhones on iOS 12 (newest models) and older iPhones on from 8.3 to 11.4.1 so those older ones are screwed even though some (11.4.1) iPhones are already jailbroken. For older models does anyone know if any of those jailbreaks on tweakbox or ignition require cydia impactor on pc or is it an app based jailbreak? Thanks.

up to 11.x upto 11.4.1 are already jailbroken via unc0ver and Electra.
For 8.3 there is TAIG2 JB

Once the unc0ver for iOS 12 is released (days) then the devs will start to work on A12 devices with iOS 12.
They concentrate now on getting iOS 12 for older device stable.

Btw there is also an untether JB in the works for iOS 11, that one would be the first since 9.0.1

Oh I know there’s a jailbreak for iOS 11.4.1 etc. I’m already jail broken on two of my iPhones with that version but my point was I can’t update to iOS 12 since it would take me 12.1.4 I believe. With iOS 8.3 I tried that jailbreak but it didn’t work several times so I just upgraded to 10.3.3. Sadly I’m having issues jailbreaking two iPhones on 10.3.3. Cydia impactor keeps saying my ID or password are wrong. I’ve tried several passwords (generated app specific and my actual password) but no luck.

Got all my old iPhones jailbroken finally!! Not on iOS 12 but they are done :) now I most wait for the jailbreak for the XS and XR
