iPhone Jailbreak iphon4 Verizon 5.1

I have a verizon iphone 4 stuck on 5.1 - It wont let me upgrade to 5.1.1 - I tried using redsnow and it gets stuck at waiting for iphone to reboot. Is there untethered jailbreak for 5.1 or any way some one can help me update it to 5.1.1 and then jailbreak it..... I spent way to long trying to jailbreak this phone

Any help would be nice thanks

You have SHSH/APTicket combination saved for 5.1.1?

If not there is no way to restore to 5.1.1

nope never upgraded it at all or saved anything. So I cant jailbreak? I should update to ios6?

There is a tethered jailbreak for 5.1 means that anytime you need to reboot you phone, it needs to be connected to a computer.

Other than that if you have no SHSH's saved no you can't jailbreak and have to wait for a jailbreak on 6.0

oh god that must suck..!! i was just thinking of downgrading my wife's 4s to 5.1.1 since her beloved google maps has been murdered!! apple maps isin't that great here, since i work in dubai and she keeps travelling from india-dubai. google maps did so well in the regions we're from. now we cant seem to get any proper directions..! ugh...! sad to know i cant go back to 5.1.1.
