Jailbreak iphone 1.1.3 - App Removal

Ok I have succesfully jailbrak "ed" my iphone 1.1.3, and it works perfect. Installer App works great and I am able to easliy put 3rd party apps on my iPhone. What I would like to do now is REMOVE preinstalled Applications (exampe: YOU Tube). I want to delete that app from my phone, not hide it, but delete. Can I do this? I heard of others doing it. If so can someone please direct me to some step by step directions? Thanks so MUCH!!!!

The only way I can possibly think of doing this would be to SSH into your phone using either Terminal or Fugu (if on a mac) or WinSCP (windows). Once you SSH in, click on the Applications folder and just find what you want to delete and do so. However, with the apps, you may not be able to delete the whole app at once because of permissions. If that is the case, just double click on the app and delete all of the files inside, then delete the actual app. (its like a folder)

If you are on a mac, I would google Fugu or if you're on a PC I would google WinSCP these are both programs used for SSHing... They are both free.

Make sure that you have OpenSSH installed on your phone, if you don't you can find it in Installer under System.

Make sure that you are connected to a wireless network on your phone then go to Settings>Wifi>(your network) and use the ip address that is there as the one you are connecting to using the program. The port will always be 22 and if you're just now installing OpenSSH or didn't even know you had it, your password is going to be 'alpine' without the ". the username will be root.

Other options would be to install MobileFinder and use that to navigate to your /Applications folder and delete the app (remember to then go to the trash and delete it again to really get rid of it), or install MobileTerminal and use the command line to delete what you don't want.

MobileFinder would be the simpler solution if you are not used to a command line.

PS. Though I can't see why you would want to delete youtube.app? I suggest it would be better to hide it using Customize if you don't want it on screen. Safari on the iPhone (especially if you use the iTransmogrify bookmarklet, which I recommend) also integrates with youtube.app, so not sure what happens when you've got rid of it.
