I just got my iPhone 1.1.2 US. Should I jailbreak it now and use it as an iPod touch and later unlock it or should I wait for real unlock because it is more safe? Opinions and reasons, please.

Probably no problems unless a major screw-up and brick it, right? I don't think anyone has bricked with jailbreaking.

firstly... what do you mean "real unlock". you're just talking about the software SIM-unlock?

anyway, i'm in the same situation, got my OTB 1.1.2 iPhone this week and messed about with it something chronic then my bro had to come over and fix it all up. haha. :p

anyway somehow i lost me IMEI numbers off the phone, but you can just restore the iPhone Software, anyway mine is all fixed up, it's not even possible to truly 'brick' your phone with just software manipulation, right?

i would definitely start using your iPhone, jailbreak it now and just use what you can. no point in having it and just letting it sit there...
