The jailbreak I was trying to do went completely wrong. I've been searching online for at least 10 hours and haven't been able to find anything. I started a jailbreak of a 2.2.1 (5h11) modem firmware 2.30 on a windows vista pc and it got stuck in DFU mode. So i tried restoring and it ended up in the slide to emergency call screen. Due to the fact that I didn't know I could click shift and restore to choose the fw the firmware was downloaded automatically by itunes 8.1. After that didn't work I realized i never specified when downloading the fw i needed the 3g. After a couple of tries I decided to go to another computer. To my surprised the other computer had itunes 8.2 and restored the phone with fw 3.0. Now the phone appears to have fw 3.0 but is still stuck in slide to emergency call screen. I kept trying to restore with other firmwares but it just gives me an error. And in older versions of itunes it wont recognize the phone or will give me other restore errors. I was hoping to find a solution or wait for the quickpwn 3.0 to come out and try jailbreaking it again. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I've slide to the emergency call screen. But the phone doesn't get activated. In fact the phone isn't recognized by itunes most of the times while in this screen.

Whilst I can't offer any immediate advice (my bag is the 2G!) I CAN say don't panic. There is ALWAYS a way to rescue your phone.

Trying different combinations of firmwares and iTunes (7.x - 8.x) is a pain in the ass but usually solves it!

Right, so iTunes 8.2 isn't recognising the iPhone at all?

What about the PC you normally use your iPhone with, does that still have iTunes 8.1? If so, does that recognise your iPhone?

There's hope if non of this works though, once QuickPwn and PwnageTool are released you should be able to hacktivate your iPhone (unofficially activate it).

It recognizes the phone in restore mode... In the emergency call screen it has been recognize but I have to unplug and plug and play with the usb and driver for a while (was able to achieve this only twice but I'll keep trying). The older version of itunes will only recognize the phone in DFU mode... That's what I thought ill keep trying then and hopefully if none of that works the new quickpwn and pwnage tool will fix it.

Not having your exact problem but similar , I would honestly just wait til tomorrow and see how ultrasn0w works out . I normally would say could try a sim adapter but this may be a better option after tomorrow . I personally am waiting patiently haha
