I have jailbroken 5 iphones. I just replaced my iphone with Apple Warranty. When i try to jailbreak it, its stuck after DFU mode. All I get is a black screen. I used redsn0w and its stuck at "waiting for Reboot". I also used pwnage and itunes does not detect. I have itunes 8.2. I dont think the new iphone 3G was ever activated through AT&T. Please help!

Did you run it thru iTunes prior to jailbreak to see if it was at 3.0 and activated ?

fix it! i ran it through windows and it worked. I also realized I had to told the home button at the end a bit longer, even after the it moves to the next screen. It didnt do that for the other iphones. weird. thanks!

I figured out the exact problem. my usb was connected through a 4 port USB. Apparently it must be connected directly to the computer.
