I recently just got an iPhone 4s. Ive always had apple products and been curious to jailbreak them. I jail broke my 2nd generation iPod touch and it was very slow and glitchy even after i got rid of the jailbreak. How can i avoid this and other permanent issues happening if I jail breaking my iPhone 4?

welll this is the ipad not iphone forum :)

I havent been able to notice any slow down other than boot times on some jailbroken devices. Maybe it was just in your head it being slow and glitchy after you restored it to a none jailbroken fw? beacuse jailbreaking your device is only through software. once you restore the software its back to how it was when you got it.. it does not do anything permanent

You wont notice any slow down when you jailbreak your iphone 4s, its muuuuuuch faster than your 2g itouch.
How long ago was it when you jailbroke your itouch? what firmware was it on?

Yeah I have a second gen iPod touch, the whole thing is just out of date. However, there is no noticeable difference when compared to jailbroken and unjailbroken, but in either state, it's laggy, buggy, and crashes often. If you have the ability to downgrade to iOS 3, I would suggest it, even though it is pretty feature starved in comparison.

Like Bfizzle said, the iPhone 4S will run many many times smoother than the iPod, and jailbreaking is always reversible. There shouldn't be any speed reduction.

I jailbroke both my iOS devices at the same time, and haven't noticed any slow down whatsoever in either device.
