How many here have jail broken their phones and are experiencing issues with Touch ID forgetting their prints?

I'm on my second 5s and it forgets my prints less than a day after I scan them.

No issues here with 2 jailbroken 5s. Are you using any touch id tweaks?

The only tweak that is related is Activator, although I am NOT using Activator to do anything with the Touch ID.

I've removed Activator. I'll see how that goes before restoring...Can't live with the slow animations that stock iOS provides.

Only had it happen to me once. Hasn't happened since

:p I wonder what it could be then? Apple guessed HW failure and told me to swap it...I doubt two phones in a row are bad. Maybe my fingers suck?

TouchID works great for the first few hours...Then, not at all.

At least you guys aren't seeing a link between the two.

I haven't had very good luck with touch ID. I've had to scan mine a dozen times and gave up a long time ago with scanning anything other than my thumb for each of the 5 prints. Interestingly, biotouch works great, but I've found it to just plain suck when it comes to unlocking or buying stuff.

I have a 5S, and so do four other people that I know (some closer than others...).

We all have the same issue: After scanning your prints, everything is perfect and the device gets unlocked with the first attempt. But after two weeks or so, the thing starts to fail. Solution seems to be erasing prints and re-scanning. Perfect again.

It's like if the "learning process" Apple talked about didn't help at all but **** it up instead.

Ok, so I deleted Activator and now I'm 5 for 5 on my touch ID unlock.

I'll reinstall and see.

I didn't even get a couple weeks out of it and finally gave up about 3 weeks ago. I was lucky to get 7 days and in those 7 days I'd be about 50% or worse in unlocking the phone. It's really odd because BioTouch never fails unless I use a print that's not on the device.

I've tried a friend's phone for a day or so and the same thing happened. He had better success than I did, but we both gave up on unlocking. Too frustrating. Wish I could use it only for purchases, but I just use BioTouch to open App Store or iTunes.

Yea when I had activator installed and used the touch is as a gesture my touch I'd barely worked. So I restored and haven't done that and it's been good since. I'll be refrainf from touch id tweaks for now.

Before the jailbreak. I would have problems with the touchid. After the jailbreak for some odd reason I haven't had a problem yet. I have bio protect plus activator and vh Setup it all detects my finger print fine. Unlocking my phone with touch Id is flawless too.

I found they also SEVERELY screwed up my touch ID. Virtual home was awful.

This time around, I haven't used any touch ID tweaks and I'm still having issues.

I've since reinstalled Activator and so far so good.

Still having issues? Have you tried restoring and re jail breaking?

Hmmm...Very interesting. I wonder if BioProtect screwes with Apples ridiculous "learning" algorithm? It would seem that the learning algorithm is the culprit.

For my 5s, I have virtual home, activator and biolockdown installed. No real issues. I have had to reset my right pointer finger bc it was missing about half the time but my other 3 fingers are still good. Perhaps skin imperfections occurring over time are messing with the authentication? Although the OP has it happening really quickly. I do have to keep the home button clean from oils every few days but that usually brings back the accuracy.

My GF has only activator and doesn't have issues either.

Just installed classic switcher. Now I'm using virtual home, bio protect, activator. And I haven't had any problems with my touch Id. Have you tried cleaning ur home button?

Woke up with TouchID completely dead. Had to rescan prints. I'll leave Activator off for awhile and see how it goes.

Would be great if we could deactivate Apples TouchID learning algorithm somehow.

Jailbreak + TouchID = forget?

So reboots don't change anything? Did you have these problems before jailbreaking?

Reboots do nothing. I haven't been able to leave my phone unjaulbroken long enough to know. #
I guess I need to restore and leave it alone for a day to see.

I was just wondering if Apples idiot learning code had been crippled by something jailbreak related.

I just don't see having a second phone with HW failure as well.

I have noticed since I did the JB that if my phone locks withTwitter app open the TouchID doesn't work and one other app that I can't remember right now, and I have to enter my code.
Kind of an annoyance, but I don't use twitter often enough to care. Also it's not that the TouchID is wrong, it doesn't even register or attempt to read my print.

I've found that the TouchID seems to work, initially, despite the condition of the finger or the sensor.

I just put some lotion on, scanned my finger, and made sure it was nice and smudgy. Sees my finger fine after drying my hands. An hour later, it sucks. It's GOT to be something software related. I don't see HW working and then failing an hour later.

I think it has something to do with
the weather...and how dry your prints are...I know that if my hands are really dry the id won't work..this was with non jb and jb...summer time I didn't have any issues...winter it seems to be hot and miss at times.

Just my opinion

This gives me some hope. Hopefully Apple has its best and brightest working out a fix.
