First off, apologies if this is a silly question, but I am new to this!!!

I know the SDK is only a couple of days away, but I was keen to jailbreak my iPhone for now, mainly to add my own custom text alert and have a play. I am running my iPhone in the UK on O2, all legit. I want to stay on the same contract, just be able to add third party apps.

Is this a simple process? Will I be able to add a custom text alert? Is it very easy to revert back to a legit iPhone come Thursday with no trace that it was ever jailbroken? Is this a pointless task? Am I asking too many questions? :D

Thanks in advance

I just did my 1.1.4 8GB with Ziphone. The easiest thing ever.

Just select the right option for you ( third button for me).

You can always restore the phone to factory settings if you wish I believe.

It's totally worth it!! :D

Just make sure to uncheck the automatically update on iTunes, so you have a chance to authorize the updates from Apple.

have fun!!

Thanks for the reply :)

Now I'm just wondering if when I do restore the phone back to original settings, will everything be the same? All my contacts, texts, settings, webapps, everything?

Mine was, and if you sync up before hand, your computer stores all that info.

But go into the process expecting, or willing to "learn" ;), if you know what I mean.

Sometimes 'things' happen.
