Hello I was thinking of jailbreaking. My phone will be replaced soon and I'll have a 90 day warranty. When I do get t replaced and have it jail broken, will it void my warranty even if I do a clean install as a new phone? Will they be able to trace it?

Jailbreaking your phone may void the warranty but as long as you wipe it before you take it into Apple they won't be able to tell that it was previously jailbroken. Just be prepared to restore as new if you have to take it in for some sort of warranty issue.

So there is no way for it to be traced? Because Apple has the resources to do it don't they? Does the security of my phone get compromised when jailbreaking?

No, Apple won't know it's jail broken if you restore as new.
As for security, yes and no. For most people who jailbreak, it should be fine with only slightly elevated risk. If you get into there jailbreak more and do things like enable SSH into your device, then that is more risky but the risk can be mitigated to a certain extent.

what part of wiping do you not understand? this has been asked 10000000 times. if you wipe your hard drive properly who is gonna know what's on it? apple is not Nsa .... stay away from JB if you are that paranoid...

Back around 2010 I actually took my jailbroken phone into the local apple store and I just hid cydia in a folder and turned off a lot of my tweaks so it wasn't so obvious that I was jailbroken. The employees probably knew my phone was jailbroken but they tend to look the other way unless they have a reason to suspect the jailbreak is causing whatever issue you're having. Apparently a lot of apple geniuses are jailbreakers themselves so they can be somewhat understanding.

It's not as big an issue as it used to be - at least for the genuises.

I went in once in 2014 to replace a lightning cable for my wife and a genius noticed battery swelling on my iPhone. Since I was only there for a cable my iPhone was jailbroken. They would have replaced it right then jailbreak and all. I decided to come back after I had backed up to iTunes - and restored.

Just last month I made no effort to hide my jailbreak when I tried to replace a screen out of warranty. The genius spotted my JB right away but her only comment was that I needed to restore. The fact that she wouldn't listen to my comment about using DFU mode for the restore led to a bootloop that they attributed to iOS 9. I got a free replacement iPhone for the price of the screen repair.

What annoyed me was the genius' snippy, arrogant attitude about it though. There's a reason I jailbreak and it's not because stock iOS makes things easier for me.

I brought my phone fully themed and jailbroken into three different apple stores for a screen replacement. They never said anything and replaced the screen.

Apple has to prove your jb is causing the issue.

calling them geniuses is amusing I've yet to meet tech support of any sort that knew something I didn't ...
Well the genius I got ended up costing Apple a new iPhone a month ago for the cost of a screen repair. She insisted I restore my JB iPhone before the repair and would not listen to my advice on DFU mode. The resultant boot loop was blamed on iOS 9.

last time i went there i just kept rolling my eyes at the suggestions they made to people

"always close the apps to maintain your battery life"

"did you try rebooting the device"

"let the phone run down before you charge it again to make the most of it"

I think you have to actually get to some of the longer term employees that are above the actual genius bar workers before you start to see real intelligence over dogma.

yup it is very rare to get tech sales or call centre ppl who know anything it is really frustrating on tech support with dlink I solved my own problem sometimes I wonder why I even bother
