Ok I had the Iphone 3GS for a couple months now and love it. I been thinking about Jailbreaking to work around some things that apple has restricted.

I do have concerns though. The main reason I bought this phone was for the reliability factor and so far so good. This phone has been solid with almost no hiccups since day one. I'm scared that Jailbreaking will put that to an end and I will have random problems at crucial times. That's something I don't want and why I switched from being a long time WM user to Iphone.

I basically want to Jailbreak for the following reasons ......

To change my Email and SMS/MMS tones (main reason)
To use 3G unrestricted
To have some notification on the lock screen
And to be able to drag n drop files from my PC to Iphone the same way WM phones allow you to do.

Is this all possible with Jailbreak?

And would my Visual Voice Mail still work? I'm not willing to sacrifice that.

Also do apps outside of the app store pose any danger to crashing the Iphone?

And lastly I'm on Version 3.1.2 & using Vista 64bit. Which jailbreaking method would be the easiest for me?

Thanks in advance :)

i would say yes to jb for you, would help in all your needs. check out the program blackra1n for jb in winddows.

and remember, if you dont like what you see, you can always restore to factory defaults thru itunes after jb.

I'll give it a shot. Hopefully things remain stable, if not then back to unbroken.
