iPhone Jailbreaking iOS 8.1 for roaming?

Firstly apologies. I'm sure this has been answered before, but perusing the jail breaking websites hasnt really given me the direct answer to my question:

If I jailbreak my iPhone 6 on iOS 8.1, will that allow me to insert and use another SIM card while roaming? So for example... I'm in the UK locked to EE and want to travel to the USA and use say an AT&T SIM card while there so I don't pay very expensive roaming charges.

I know that officially unlocking the phone will allow me to do that, but my question is, if I jailbreak the phone, will that get me the same result?

No. Jail breaking does not unlock a phone for use with a different carrier's SIM card.

Why don't you just pay the £8 and get it unlocked officially via EE?
