Jailbreaking iPhone 1.1.1 AppSnap

Ok, so I had a jailbroken 1.1.2 iphone that i got off ebay and installed this catgories application on it. Then it went all crazy and got rid of all my icons including the installer app so I couldn't do anything with my phone. I was told to restore it and I did and I downgraded to 1.1.1 as everyone seems to think its better and easier to jailbreak. I want to jailbreak it again but when I go onto jailbreakme.com and press install AppSnap it freezes. A new page begins to load and the loading bar is a teensy bit along but then it doesn't move however long I leave it. I left it sitting for an hour and it didnt move! I have tried it several times now and its always the same!?!?!

Can someone please suggest why this is happening or perhaps tell me another way to get appsnap on my phone?

I say upgrade to 2.2 and jailbreak/unlock. Get out of the 1.x era. It was really fun back then, but there are much better ways of doing things now.

Are you kidding? Just upgrade to 2.2 and use pWnage Tool to JB it. 2.2 has some neat features you dont wanna miss.
