Alright what do i have is a jailbrocken and unlocked with pwnage tool 2.1 iphone 2g 2.1 firmware. I'm on a mac. I want to jailbreak and unlock again to 2.2 firmware - so what tool do i use: pwnage tool or quickpwn.
Also quickpwn says that it doesn't support my iphone firmware in a pink popup window.
Thanks

Alright guys, just a little update. I successfully unlocked and jailbroke 2.2 firmware on my iphone 2g. And it all worked, my iphone is now on 2.2 fw + syncs perfectly with itunes all apps, mails, contacts etc (although it gave me an error immediately after upgrade that itunes cannot recognise my iphone) but i reconnected my iphone in the dock and it all works. My ckracked apps are also working, mobile installation from cydia source hackulo.us patch works too. Phone is unlocked and sms's and calls are working. All the feachures of 2.2 firmware are working eg street view. Everything is there.

All i did was just downloaded already customised firmware prepared earlier by someone in pwnage tool 2.2. You can download it here http://hacksdaily.blogspot.com/2008/11/unlock-iphone-22-firmware.html I just downloaded that file and unrared it and selected it in iTunes (pressing control key on keyboard and clicking on restore icon in itunes under iphone), selected the custom firmware ipsw and it took about 30 minutes for iphone to upgrade. 20 minutes went on black screen apple logo with a progress bar and the rest was quick. This custom firmware has the original apple logo on the bootup, so there are no pineapple logo, which is good, i don't like pineapple logo nither the funny cartoon steeve jobs saying in Russian "Lest's go!".

Over all 2.2 firmware is better than 2.1:
Street view is great, although Ireland doesn't have even one street with street view. San francisco and new york have one so it's all good.
Next, i really liked viewing all screenshots on the app store for each app, i can skim them full screen
3rd, apps for 2.2 fw work

And i'm looking forward to using those japanese Emoji icons, gonna install the tweeg for it in cydia to enable it. looking forward to that.

Hope that helps to anyone with iphone 2g

Really, thatnks for telling me.
These japanese are awsome, how didn't we think on these icons here in Europe and America. Way to go Japanese! :D
