Ok, I've read multiple different answers on multiple different sites so hopefully I can get a clear answer here.
Question #1
I've got a 3g iphone with the 2.2 firmware and want to jailbreak it. I also have a new aluminum unibody macbook (the standard one.) Well this originally presented a problem because of all the reports saying the phone was not recognized in DFU mode while trying to be jailbroken. I read today however that the issue is with the usb port so if you buy an external usb hub (like this right? http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...b+hub&lp=1&type=product&cp=1&id=1218038120506 ) I will be able to jailbreak my phone using my own computer, correct? If not, I can just jailbreak on a friends computer from what I've read, but this will still mean my iphone will be synced with my itunes and contacts, etc. correct?
Question #2
This has to be simple, and I'm sure answered somewhere, but I'm in class trying to hurry and I'm also somewhat lazy lol so here goes. Do I have to do anything special in order to make sure all my contacts, calendar appts, etc. that are currently on my non-jailbroken phone will be synced with my phone once it is jailbroken? I don't really want to have to go back and enter 150+ contacts into my phone again!
Sorry for the long-winded post hopefully there won't be many more noob questions from me!
