Hey folks, last night I successfully jailbroke my iPhone and have been able to make every tweak needed with all the information you guys put out for all of us on this forum without having to ask a single question. I know you usually get complaints and questions that are based in a lack of research so I thought this thread might be refreshing.

I was able to find out what that my 3GS is untethered and do a lot of "pre" trouble shooting using your useful information...set up SSH and iPhonebrowser with my PC to make themes more managable...and successfully implement a smart lock screen so thanks! The phone is so much fun now, I'm really enjoying tweaking the UI.:apple:

Glad it worked out great for you.
As long as people do their homework a little and dont expect/demand people to hand them all the details infront of them then its alot easier.
Some think just because its an iphone forum people must help them or hold their hand while they're clueless, rude and will not follow directions.

Agreed! Between this forum, the Dev-Team's Blog, and iClarified, my first and subsequent jailbreaks came off without a hitch. I can't imagine a stock iPhone after 18 months of jailbroken bliss (and productivity).

Welcome to the cool side :D. Now that you've unlocked the real potential of your phone, I'm sure you will find the experience even better.

P.S. I noticed you said you installed OpenSSH ... hope you changed your root and mobile passwords.

I'm a noob too, and I basically got all my answers by reading thru the threads and finding responses to other questions. I'm kind of new to the whole forum thing and it blows my mind that everyone is so willing to take the time to help others out. :)

Keep on Rockin!
