Jailbreaking made me lose all my apps. WTF!

Ok, so i JB'd my 3G for the first time last night. Everything went smoothly. I was very happy.

I then noticed my ringtones were not carried over, so as I went to sync the phone, it started removing all my apps from the app store.

Do i have to go install all those apps again? WTF why did it do this??

If you used Pwnage tool then you restored your phone. That mean you have to install everything again, or restore a backup.

When you use pwnage you create a new firmware so you have to reinstall everything.

i restored from backup, and all apps were there.

however, my custom ringtones that i created were all missing. i went to sync phone, and it removed all apps.

not a big deal, just went ahead a re-installed em. just kinda scared me, thought i was gonna lose more stuff.
