Hi

I am interested in jailbreaking my iPhone 3G that is version 2.2.1 (5h11). I am a legit o2 customer and do not want to unlock it. I have read loads of information as the last thing i want to do is brick my phone. So could everyone maybe tell me of there experiences has anyone ever fully bricked there iPhone. I want to take the plunge but i am to scared. I believe i have the knowledge to do it but what if I ever need to take it to apple.

I know there is loads on the internet but i am looking for some personal experience.

thanks.

Thanks I think I shall jailbreak this afternoon.

One last thing, when 3.0 comes out can I restore and go back to 3.0 'unjailbroken'? This is because when it comes out I wont really want for it to be jailbroken, and i might not even need to jailbreak 3.0. Kind of insignificant to most but I am wondering if it is that simple.

Thanks again:D

I am going through it right now but I jave just remeber what about my numbers? will they go? crap:confused:

If you sync your numbers with outlook when you jailbreak you can, i presume, just set them to sync to your 'new' iphone. I sync mine with google contacts so I only need to enter my account details and they shall sync through push. In answer to your question it depends how you sync them.

Thanks for the help everyone I plan on jailbreaking this afternoon - what else are saturdays for !?:D As well those who have jailbroke what apps do you find the best/use the most.

How do you sync contacts with google? Can you transfer all contacts from phone to google or does it only work the other way?

Sync with iTunes first. It backups everything :D
Well it was close but iTunes did sync earlier in the day, don't remember doing that but hey ho at least I lost no contact :D would of been a nightmare getting 137 contacts back lol

Well I use to sync using nuevasync, however now google have released Google mobile sync. It uses the Microsoft exchange account to sync your calender and contacts and last time I checked they were working on push e-mail. So if you have a googlemail account it is ideal as they are always safe. If your contacts and calender are not on google at the moment you can export them from outlook or your other program using there help menu.

Let me know how you get on - or if you need a hand.

You will loose all contacts and calender on the iPhone so make sure you back up

I went through and used quickpwn to jailbreak my device. For those who have experience I am interested in knowing.

1. Apps that use internet etc. do they use my unlimited browsing? There are no extra charges are there?

2. Winterboard - has anyone experience bad battery life with it, I mean considerably awfully bad.

Thanks
