jailbreaking side effects?

hey

if i jailbreak my 1.1.4 iphone, will there be any side effects if i virginize it afterwords? will there be lots of unrecoverable space loss (heard this somewhere) or can i completely restore it to factory defaults with absolutely zero sign of being jailbroken?

if not, what happens?

I honestly don't know, I just thought I'd post a slightly non-serious comment, I don't think there are any problems as long as the unlock is software only.

If you are just jailbreaking, all you need to do is restore the phone when you are done. There shouldnt be too much space taken up if any...

Uninstall any apps you added via the Installer app before you virginize it.
They do remain (although they will be inaccessible) and use disk space.
I basically open the Installer and uninstall EVERYTHING.
Then remote into it with WinSCP or iPhone Browser and remove the Installer app manually.

At that point, only the native stuff should be there.

Then virginize it and you should not have any wasted disk space.

Yeah but technically, even if you do have random files laying around inside your phone from the apps, Apple shouldnt be able to even find them because the only way they could find out is from jailbreaking it themselves...

Which they can do... no problem. Also, they could physically open it and still consider the warranty valid.

Apple plays by different rules. If they were to "jailbreak" your phone (theoretically), then that's their prerogative.

Well if you physically take it to the store and just dont mention anything about jailbreaking and play dumb with iPhone terms, they will not check for anything. Most of the Apple employees really dont care too much about jailbreaking because personally, I think they jailbreak their phones themselves...
