Since its "twice as fast" will that get rid of the little bit of lag Jailbreaking causes.

I thought I read that the 3.0 software was already jailbroken but wont be released till the 3.0 software is live.

It is, and when it's released, dev team will update their tool to support this final 3.0 version and whamo, we'll be in business. Dev team also stated that 8.2 interferes with jailbreaking due to a low level USB change so they may need to check into that as well. It might take them a bit but since it sounds fairly simple to update their tools, I'd expect to have it that weekend sometime. :)

I really hope so! I was jailbroken but went back to stock because of the lag.

i would LOVE to be able to run winterboard without lag!!!

I already do. :)

The lag of an UNjailbroken iPhone is too much for me, so even miniscule lag from winterboard is unbearable. Even with minimal themeing.

I even jailbroke without using winterboard and it was still laggy! (I had a controlled side by side test with other iPhones) perhaps due to SBSettings

It's jailbroken for current devices, doesn't mean it'll be jailbroken for the new device. On the 3G it's a hardware exploit that allows jailbreaking. That exploit won't exist in the 3G S since most of the hardware is different. Same reason the same exploit doesn't exist in the 2G iPod Touch. Can't really say how long it'll be to jailbreak the 3G S until they get their hands on one. Jailbreaking 3.0 != jailbreaking the 3G S.

Damn, it's a phone, not a laptop.

Maybe yours has issues? Mine when unjailbroken was working fine, so is my wife's. not sure why yours seems to experience any lag.
