Hey everyone,

I know that I can't jailbreak on mac with my late '08 MBP, but is there anything stopping me from using windows to do this? I saw a couple threads on here of people who got it to work on Windows, but I didn't know if there are any negative side effects.

Basically, I plan on jailbreaking from vista then going back to OSX to sync my music and everything. I don't know why this wouldn't work, but then again I haven't seen anything confirming it will.

Thanks!

It will work just fine. Hopefully the dev team just come up with a workaround, but until then it looks like Windows is the only way. There shouldn't be an adverse effects.

Just get a USB hub. It'll work with the aluminum MacBooks. There is a post about this already. Search for DFU mode and new MacBooks.

Didn't read my post I take it... I don't want to spend money on something I don't need to perform a free jailbreak. Thanks.

I honestly don't think being rude is going to help here, the other posters here don't have to help you but they do so out of kindness. & you didn't actually say anything about spending out money or the lack of enthusiasm in doing so.

Sometimes the only option is to spend money, a usb hub can be bought for as little as £2/$4 on ebay or in store.

A jailbreak will work just fine on windows using Quickpwn, and syncing with itunes on the mac after jailbreaking on windows will work just fine too.

Here is the thread on the late 08 mac models and solutions just in case it peaks your interest. I think they are also working on a way to do this without the need for a USB hub.
