So I just saw that you can make your phone go into DFU mode with creating a custom IPWS and restoring it. Link. After I do that, I jailbroke it using redsn0w and then after its done, it just sits in DFU mode with black screen. Is there a way for it to boot normal after this or does the steps to get it in DFU mode mess up the OS and you can't jailbreak?

If you're in DFU without a power button, you can use Recovery Fix in redsn0w to try to kick it out although you might need to be in Recovery Mode to even get the option. I'm not sure how you ended up in DFU after running the jailbreak. Maybe you should try to restore and run the jailbreak again.
