Im still agonising over the decision between a blackberry and iphone and a friend of mine just advised me that if you jailbreak an iphone, it may affect the warranty... is it possible to reset factory settings after a jailbreak if I one day needed to use the warranty?

thanx heaps!:D

Yes, Apple might not honor your warranty if you took in a jailbroken phone. That's the company line, anyway. You can restore everything to factory settings by a restore (usually...there are a few things that might need to be manually reset and restore done again).

The only possibility that could cause a problem is that your phone breaks where they can see that it's jailbroken, but you can't restore it. I haven't actually heard of this happening to anyone, so I decided that the risk was low enough...and worth taking! I love my jailbroken iPhone! Good luck!
