I acquired a 3G iphone from my dad (used) and for the short term, got an O2 sim for it. I jailbroke it in anticipation for using my T-Mobile contract sim in it for the long term, and it worked fine with both O2 and T-mob sims with lots of signal

When my new t mobile sim arrived, I put it in only to find I had quite poor signal. (I did manage some signal but not everywhere) so I decided to restore (undoing the jailbreak i guess?) and jailbreak it again, but then neither my t-mobile or 02 sims gets any signal, they both say "no signal". THEN i restored it again without jailbreaking, but now the O2 sim doesnt even work.

I used my dads iphone for some tests:
My sim doesnt work in either.
His sim has signal in both phones, but less in mine.

It seems it would be a sim problem but WHY? it was working this week.

Now when I put in the O2 sim it says Waiting for activation.. but this doesnt seem to be going away.

If i click Dismiss on the message it'll just say No service again.

Please help!! Thanks

You need to officially activate a UK iPhone in its un-jailbroken state with any O2 sim card and then sync it to iTunes. Also I trust the original O2 contract has been fulfilled and the initial contract and activation has taken place?

Also, pick up an O2 sim at your local store for free and try that.
