Hey There,

Trying to Jailbreak my IPhone 3G.

The process worked fine from my laptop to the IPHONE, and appeared to be completed successfully.

When I rebooted the IPHONE, Cydia is not on the springboard.
Here's what Ive already tried

Retried the upload multiple times (I made sure Cydia was CHECKED and ICY was unchecked)

I waited until the entire process finished with the IPHONE before i clicked on the finish button on the laptop

Please offer any additional advise to help get me started, or rather finished with the jailbreak!
Thks

Does it appear in spotlight? Maybe try toggling restrictions in the settings app?

I dont think it appears in spotlight? I'm not sure what that is.. but I don't see it anywhere on any of my springboard pages.

All of my restriction setting in the settings app are set to on...

Any other suggestions?

yes, go to restrictions, hide utube or similar, go to springboard, go back, turn restrictions off, go to springboard see if its there...

report back ;)

Slide your home screen left, past the first page, and then search for cydia from that page. Go into settings, and enable restrictions. Exit to the springboard, and then go back into the settings and disable it again. See if that fixes it.

hmmm didnt work :(

I did exactly as you said with enabling and disabling the restriction settings and nothing :(

I also did a search for cydia before, and after each of those setting changes, to no avail..

any thing else to try?

happened to me too, i just went to spotlight and found it there. then my phone automatically did a respring and i was good to go from there.

Hi JVICE

Figured out what the spotlight is.. the search on the left hand side of the screen..

i tried to search for cydia in teh search and it does not find it.

I also just realized that I have the 3.1 update.. is this possibly the problem, and if so, can my phone be changed back to 3.0 to make this all work?

Let me see if I understand you. You updated your 3G to 3.1 firmware and didn't know you did so ?
nah, im on a 2g still and i just know your not supposed to jailbreak/unlock until the dev team says its ok

Unfortunately, I was the newbie that knew no better

I have learned so much from you guys in the last week.
Thanks for all of your advise and support

so as punishment, i will sit and wait till the 3.1 JB comes out ;)
