Any risk of bricking the phone forever? I'm seriously considering giving up all my downloaded apps on my jailbroken iphone for the new 2.0 software once it becomes available.

What does everyone think?

i'm on 1.1.3 and also want t upgrade to 2.0 when released.
my iphone is jailbroken and unlocked using (anysim 1.1 and then ziPhone 2.0)

i also would consider giving up downloaded apps in favour of the ones in the App Store, but I'm sure this kind of info will be more widely available just after "early july" when 2.0 goes live..

I'd say wait a couple days. The devs look to have cracked the existing iPhone wide open, the only thing that could possibly rain on the parade is an enforced bootloader upgrade with 2.0. But given that Apple has made no attempt to upgrade bootloaders yet (probably to avoid the risk of people inadvertently bricking their phones) I find this unlikely. Also can't see a reason why Installer and the App Store can't coexist on the same phone.

I would restore and then upgrade old buddy. i have 1.1.4 and it was jailbroke with ziphone 3.0 and even though i HATED to restore it and lose my apps i did. Had i known it would be another month it might have been a different story. I wouldnt take the chance. Now if you are not using ATT and need it unlocked then i would not upgrade at all. wait and see if the app store is worth losing all your installer apps. im sure reviews will be on here as soon as it opens up. good luck

Too Expensive App. Store

Look from what im hearing the App. store will get expensive in the long run, why u think apple is selling the new phone so cheap. There going to make it up on the back end with the App. store. They say some apps. may be free but at what percentage of the over 4000 apps. u think will be free? A very small percent!!!

Help

I don't know if my iPhone is jailbroken, unlocked or both.

I have an 8gb iPhone bought off eBay with 1.14 firmware and I popped my t-mobile SIM into it and it works perfectly.

My company operates on Exchange so i would like to be able to upgrade to 2.0 when it comes out, then have full e-mail and calendar functionality from work, but I also know that I can't just do that with an unlocked phone. My understanding is, I have to wait for a hack to come out first(?).

What should I do and how do I do it? I read about ZiPhone. What is that? Is it software I download then use to re-jailbreak the phone?

I'm clueless, thanks
